Longhorns Sir'Jabari Rice Signs Unique NIL Deal Ahead of Sweet 16
USA TODAY Sports

After making their first appearance in the Sweet 16 in 15 years, the Texas Longhorns are not ready for their season to end just yet.

They are set to take on the No. 3-seeded Xavier Musketeers on Friday night in Kansas City with the hope of continuing an impressive tournament showing. Helping lead the way for the Longhorns will be Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year Sir'Jabari Rice, who has consistently been one of their best players all season.

That trend continued in Texas' 81-61 Round of 64 blowout win in which Rice led the Longhorns in scoring with 23 points on 8 of 14 shooting, including a 7 of 10 three-point masterclass.

Now, ahead of their Sweet 16 showdown against the Musketeers, Rice has signed a unique NIL deal. Rice joins Houston's Marcus Sasser and Virginia Tech's Georgia Amoore as the first three student athletes to sign NIL deals with Doritos.

Doritos has launched its "Own The Three" campaign, with all three athletes putting together strong showings from beyond the arc. For the Longhorns, Rice has averaged 18 points in his first two tournament games while shooting a blistering 50 percent from deep.

Rice and the Longhorns continue their tournament run on Friday night against the Musketeers at 8:45 p.m. CT.
