NFL Analyst Doesn’t Hold Back On Bold Houston Texans’ Claim
Kiyoshi Mio-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Texans were highly impressed with the performance of their rookie quarterback CJ Stroud during the 2023 season.

Despite the common occurrence of some players experiencing regression or encountering obstacles in their sophomore year, the Texans remain optimistic about their quarterback’s potential to either improve upon or sustain the level of play demonstrated in 2023.

This confidence is evident in their recent acquisition of Stefon Diggs, a move aimed at providing their quarterback with another potent offensive weapon.

With the addition of Diggs to an already formidable lineup including Nico Collins, Tank Dell, Dalton Schultz, and Joe Mixon, the Texans appear primed for a significant breakthrough in the upcoming season.

NFL analyst Craig Carton has even gone so far as to predict that the Texans could emerge as one of the top teams in the AFC. Carton envisions the potential for a prolific offense, capable of amassing 5,000 yards in the season, attributing this to the deep-play threats posed by all of their receivers.

The Texans also boast depth with John Metchie III, contributing to what is considered one of the most well-rounded offensive personnel groups in the league. Their offensive coordinator, Bobby Slowik, garnered recognition as one of the standout assistant coaches in the NFL last season.

However, the Texans recognize that defensive coordinators will now possess more extensive information and footage on their quarterback, necessitating strategic adjustments to counter opposing defenses. While expectations may be high, caution is advised considering the challenges of surpassing the exceptional performance of the previous season.

Nonetheless, even if their quarterback maintains his current level of play without improvement, the Houston Texans remain a formidable force in the league, presenting a legitimate threat to their opponents.
